Citation: At approximately 0557 while I was performing a pre-operational inspection task, I noticed that several tubs and 1 tub cart had several pieces of product from the previous days production.The tubs are a direct product contact surface. They all had pieces of product averaging from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch in diameter. The tub cart also had about 3 pieces of product averaging from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch in diameter.Mr. Jay Smucker, Plant Owner, was verbally notified of this noncompliance.The plant is not complying with regulations 416.13(a) and 416.13(c).Failure to comply with Regulatory requirements could result in Regulatory Control Action.
Regulation:
416.13(a) Each official establishment shall conduct the pre-operational procedures in the Sanitation SOP’s before the start of operations.
416.13(c) Each official establishment shall monitor daily the implementation of the procedures in the Sanitation SOP’s.
