NOTICE of INTENDED ENFORCEMENT:
This letter confirms verbal notification given to you, Des Moines District, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that on January 29, 2013, of our decision to issue a Notice of Intended Enforcement (NOIE) for slaughter operations at your firm, JBS Green Bay, Est. M562, Green Bay, WI. This action is taken in accordance with the Rules of Practice 9 CFR 500.3 (b), which indicates that FSIS can take a regulatory control action, the program employee will immediately notify the establishment orally or in writing of the action and the basis for the action, if it is handling or slaughtering animals inhumanely such as, that which occurred at your establishment on January 29, 2013.
